Met with the surgeon today to discuss VNS I've had since 2006.  He said he could remove the device thank goodness!  He said I should not have gotten it to begin with.  I have few seizures, one a year or so.  He suggested I have it turned off see how I do and decide from there.  I did have it turned off the end of July and had a grand mal seizure 5 days later.  They said it could be related or not.  I ended up with a concussion and it took weeks to recover.  I think I just got used to this VNS and wonder if it did help?  I am seriously leaning towards having it removed.  Thanks, JeanBean

Sorry to hear about your BIG ONE, JeanBean. If you want an opinion I'll give you mine. Get rid of it! My opinion might be a little biased because I've been reading all of the MAUDE reports and happen to be the guy in the Reader's Digest article (see below). The VNS was the worst mistake I ever made in my life. Hope all goes well for you.
