Hello Everyone

I have just had my access verified and this is the first time I have been able to post.

I have treatment resistent depression (over ten awful years of it) and I have found the information on this board very helpful but also scary.  I live in Scotland.  Does anyone have experience or knowledge of VNS or alternative treatments available on The National Health Service in Scotland?  (I have had practically every group of antidepressant medication and mood stabilizer available and they only seemed to help for a limited period of time.)  If I could get myself out of this terrible state - I really would.

I already have tinnitus, hearing problems. a Lithium induced permanent thyroid problem and I'm anxious not to worsen my existing depression and other symptoms.  Any help will be much appreciated, thank you.

I know of one alternative treatment that you can investigate:

I know of one practitioner in Glengarnock, North Ayrshire, Scotland (there may be others, but this is the only one I know of personally):

What do you know about neurofeedback?
Check out this chart of alternative epilepsy treatments.

Thank you very much, Bernard.  I appreciate the link as it is really helpful.  I'll do some homework and look into it more.

Kind regards
